It is difficult to give a summary of the graphic work of H.Levigne because of two reasons. First of the uncommonly extensiveness and secondly because his graphics, etching, lithographs, ink drawings are themselves an enclosed whole, complete 'selfsufficient', they explain themself.
Technical seen his work can be divided in three development phases. His first graphics can you call academical, in which much patience and time has been spend. After that he looks for a maximum on artistic effect and finaly he uses shadows-and atmosphere creating shades of grey.
